Re: Anyone else applying for Ohio?? I plan on applying for Ohio, but I'm not anywhere near that point in the process yet as I am just about to start ATC-CTI school. I've lived here my whole life, so I'd have to imagine that would help me get Ohio a little easier than say someone from California applying to Ohio. So, I'm currently active duty Air Force Airfield Systems, and maintain the ILS, TACAN, ETVS, GATR site radios... My question is, is there a certain way to answer the KSA's on the usajobs site? For example: 5. Ability to focus on overall NAS systems performance and causes of system degradation... I read a couple posts on the Facebook that there may be a hiring freeze? Anyone hear anything about that? Retired FAA, NATCA Member Apr 3, 2009 1,230 3 38 Nashville TN Jan 19, 2010 #5 If you are willing to work in Iraq or Afghanistan, you might consider applying with ITT Systems Division (staffing VFR towers in Afghanistan) or with Midwest ATC (staffing towers and a few approach controls) in Afghanistan and Iraq. If you work 10 years at an ATC-8 tower receiving 1% raises every year and check out at an ATC-12 center in year 12, you will be making less money than the guy who started at the ATC-12 center 4 years ago and checked out a year before you did.
