 American Eagle flight 5342, operated by PSA, departed from Wichita, Kan., was on approach to Runway 33 around 8:30 p.m. when it crashed with the military plane. The plane was a Bombardier CRJ twin ...  The Bombardier CRJ700 is a regional commercial jet designed and developed by Bombardier Aerospace, a Canadian transportation conglomerate. Derived from the earlier members of the family, particularly the smaller CRJ100 and 200 airframes. The CRJ700 first flew in May 1999 and entered commercial service in 2001 with Brit Air.  On June 1st, 2020, Bombardier sold its CRJ program to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, with the final CRJ to be built and delivered to SkyWest Airlines on February 28th, 2021. In total, between 1999 and 2021, 924 CRJ aircraft were produced. The figures below show that the CRJ900 was by far the most popular of all the later CRJ variants:
