There was a plane crash in Livingston, Montana on January 11, 2024. The plane, a twin-engine Learjet 55, crashed while attempting to land at Mission Field Airport. Early reports indicate the jet was unable to stop, and slid off the runway into a ravine. The FAA reports the plane that crashed Thursday was a twin-engine Learjet 55, which had two people on board. The learjet landed on Runway 22 and then slid off the end at Mission Field Airport in Livingston, Montana around 8:30 AM, according to the FAA Statement made to NonStop Local. The plane ran down a grassy, snowy hill, busted through a barbed wire fence, and crashed into a ravine about 100 yards from the landing strip. No one was injured in the crash. "Royal Air Freight flight RAX698, a Learjet 55, suffered a runway excursion after landing on runway 22 at Mission Field Airport (LVM/KLVM), Livingston, Montana. The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the two pilots onboard the airplane were not injured." Once clear of clouds and with the runway in sight, the pilot canceled the instrument flight rules clearance, announced their position over the airport’s common traffic advisory frequency and received a reply with a report of 1/4 inch.
